A little bit about me:

My name is Makayla Kane.  I am the owner of Southern Comfort Fitteds. I started my cloth diaper manufacturing business in 2012.

I am 34 years old, married for 10 years and have 4 children. 2 boys and 2 girls. I am also a proud mother of autism with my oldest son.

We live in a small rural town in East Texas on a 5 acre plot of land. We have 2 Siberian huskies and 2 ding bat, indoor cats.

I run my business inside a garage studio connected to our home. When I first started out sewing, i had a small corner in my living room. Which eventually took over half of the living room.  My husband gave me his office to move into because my space kept growing, so eventually i took over the whole office. And finally he decided to give me his garage ! We took everything out of the garage. Painted the floors and walls. Added lighting and an air conditioner. Added tons of shelving. I couldn’t wait for the paint to dry so i could get organized and moved in! So now I’ve been in the garage studio for about 6 years!

If you are a buying customer or an interested customer of SoCo I highly recommend this blog to you. If you are considering becoming a work at home mom, struggle with autism, learning to be organized, or learning new skills such as sewing, this blog is FOR YOU!
