75 Summer Activities That Aren’t LAME!
I’m a mom of 4, one with special needs. I also run a small business from home. So the need for a Summer Bucket list that is actually DOABLE and makes sense for real-life people, was something I needed to come up with.
I finally came up with a good list so that I can give myself a little goal for spending time with my kids, family, and friends and put it another GREAT summer down in the books.
I’m sharing my list with you today. I also made this into a free printable for you because you know I love ya!

- Pick berries and make homemade jam
- Make trips to waterparks (paid or free)
- Go to a lake and rent a boat and or a Seadoo
- Buy those “bunch of water balloons” and fill up a tote of water balloons, have a water balloon fight with your kids (here is a pack of 420 Self Sealing Water Balloons enough to last all summer)
- Go on a mini beach vacation
- Hand wash your car with the water hose and have kids help you clean and vacuum it out
- Catch fireflies in clear glass jars one night
- Get fishing gear and sandwiches and spend the morning at a fishing hole
- Rent a paddleboat and take it out
- Go to a music festival
- Go to a Pro Baseball game
- Make your kids and yourself a summer reading challenge. Take trips to the library as well. Check out my favorite books I think every mom should read!
- Go indoor skydiving
- Take a new hobby class (online or in a store) (canvas painting, cake decorating, cooking, ceramics)
- Go on a camping trip
- Go to the fair and ride the Ferris Wheel, eat cotton candy, go to a carnival and ride a rollercoaster
- Have a night under the stars camp out and bring wine for yourself
- Make an outdoor drive-in movie in your driveway
- Learn a new skill (new language, yoga, martial arts, boxing)
- Take the kids to a park and fly kites
- Go to an indoor science museum during the hottest days
- Have a “moms only “ sleepover with just you and your friends
- Host a sleepover for your friends and their kids
- Prep and start a garden for the fall
- Make homemade pizza on a Friday night
- Have a cheese and wine picnic for yourself
- Go bowling with friends and family and create a bowling team
- Host a neighborhood cookout bar-b-que and pot luck
- Go to the zoo
- Go on a hike or long bike ride
- Go to the arcade as an end of week reward for doing chores and helping mom
- Take a yoga class or teach yourself yoga from youtube during your morning routine for yourself
- Take the kids to volunteer in a soup kitchen or an animal rescue
- Plant new flowers around the house
- Make homemade bird feeders, there are a ton on Pinterest. Get up early in the mornings to watch the birds at the feeders while you drink coffee
- Go to an indoor mini-golf course
- Join a marathon for a good cause
- Go ziplining
- Go to an indoor aquarium on a hot day
- Get paintball guns and go crazy in the pasture
- Make matching Tie Dye shirts for the whole family, use a Cricut Maker to put the family last name on the backs
- Sew a quilt or use old t-shirts and make a memorable quilt
- Get a babysitter and go to a country club with your spouse and country dance
- Take the kids for surfing lessons if you live near the coast
- Take a spa day for yourself. Get a massage, mani-pedi, facial
- Do a homemade wine tutorial (youtube)
- Go to a farmers market or a flea market
- Make homemade snowcones and homemade ice cream
- Go night-skinny dipping with your hubby after the kids are in bed asleep
- Go see a comedy show with your spouse
- Pop fireworks for the 4th of July
- Get a 1000 pc puzzle and leave it sitting out all summer for the family to work on little by little
- Learn how to use procreate on your Ipad and learn how to design and make your own graphic art
- Give your walls and rooms a new coat of paint
- Save your summer $$ for Christmas Shopping, get your Christmas Shopping done now during Summer
- Make a scavenger hunt for your spouse for father’s day
- Have a summer garage sale to make some extra cash and have the kids run a lemonade stand alongside. Teach kids how to save the money they earn using the Profit First for kids method
- Get your girlfriends and go to a winery
- Go to a blood drive and give blood
- Go snorkeling or scuba diving/take scuba lessons
- Go on a cruise
- Take an online class at skillshare.com or find one on Pinterest to learn more about your interests and work
- Ride ATV’s and Side by Sides out in the country
- Take a face picture every day for 60 days, put together an edited time lapse video of your facial expressions and changes
- Make a summer photo album/scrapbook for your coffee table
- Make a summer playlist for the pool
- Get a new tattoo or piercing
- Rescue an animal (and teach the kids how to foster and rehome)
- Have a campfire, drink wine and make smores with the kids, listen to that summer playlist
- On a super hot day, have a board game marathon challenge
- Get a new journal and write every morning as your summer journal of what you did that summer and your thoughts and feelings
- Have a sidewalk chalk art challenge, and post it on IG
- Start a Tik Tok account and make Tik Tok videos with your kids or by yourself as a #momsoftiktok
- Walk the dogs at dusk and dawn
- Visit a new city and learn something new about a new culture
