Cloth pads are growing in popularity. My customers are absolutely loving them. With that said, I felt the need to quickly cover any lingering questions you might have as you consider making the switch to cloth pads. Let’s cut to the chase and get some of these FAQs answered.

– XWXL – 17.75″ x 3″ - How much liquid does a cloth pad hold? The liners hold approximately ½ T of liquid, while the Postpartum and XWXL sizes hold approximately 6-7 T. Each size adds the ability to hold 1 T more than the previous size.
- How much do your cloth pads cost?
Prices range from $7-$18 each, with sets starting at $45. - Do cloth pads stain?
Cloth pads can stain, but this can easily be avoided by investing in some stain remover and/or soaking them directly after use. But also keep in mind that you are the only person who will see your pads, so try not to fret too much about this. - How do cloth pads hold up after washes?
They get fluffier and softer after each wash, and their functionality holds up perfectly for years. - What is the lifespan of a cloth pad?
One cloth pad can last 10 years or more! - How many hours can you wear a cloth pad?
This comes down to your personal comfort level, your flow, and whether or not you are using other products in addition to the cloth pad. As a rule of thumb, I’d plan on using a single cloth pad for 2-6 hours. - Can cloth pads handle my heavy flow?
I recommend pairing your cloth pad with a menstrual cup during your heaviest flow days, but an XL or Overnight Cloth pad can definitely handle your heaviest of flows. For me, it’s more of a matter of comfort and wanting to change before the pad reaches “max capacity.” - Can I use cloth pads in public?
If you plan on using cloth pads in public, I suggest investing in one of my zippered bags (small: $9.95 and large: $14.95). You fold the pad inward, snap it closed, and store in the zippered menstrual bag. It will stay sealed and protected until you are able to get home and wash. - Do cloth pads slide around in your underwear?
Cloth pads will not slide around and will stay firmly in place. This is one of the main reasons I prefer cloth pads to disposable pads! The snaps hold the pad perfectly in place. No more sticky tabs or having your disposable pad bunch up in your underwear. I do suggest wearing fitted underwear so the pad hugs your body well. - Do you prewash your fabric before sewing them?
Yep! All fabric is pre-washed in the studio before any items are made. This ensures that you get a soft, clean product and shrinkage is prevented. But please wash your pads when you receive them to rid of any factory dust and handling. - When and where can I purchase your cloth pads?
I restock my store one Friday a month, usually the last Friday and always at 1pm CST. Make sure to subscribe to the shop to get emails on exact dates. - Where do you ship?
I ship orders all over the world via USPS. - Would these work for incontinence?
Cloth pads are definitely a great solution for incontinence. - What about postpartum?
I make a cloth pad specifically for postpartum, designed with extra comfort as to not rub on any incisions or sutures. - How do you wash cloth pads?
Wash all of your pads together at the end of your cycle using a cold rinse and a hot wash in a detergent of your choice. No softeners, bleach, or iron. Feel free to pre-rinse before storing in a menstrual bag if you need to. Tumble dry or hang dry in the sun. - Do cloth pads leak?
Cloth pads are backed with a water-resistant fleece that pushes liquid back up into the center of the absorbent layers, keeping your underwear and clothing dry and protected. No more ruining underwear! - Do I only use a cloth pad, or do I pair with other menstrual products?
This is absolutely up to you. You can definitely use the cloth pads on their own, but you can pair them with any menstrual product you’d like. Personally, I pair the cloth pad with a menstrual cup on my heavy days and then transition into a cloth pad only on my lighter days. - How many cloth pads should I have?
Once again, this is all based on personal preference. It depends on your flow, how frequently you change your pads, whether or not you are pairing it with another product, etc. I recommend having 3-4 of various sizes in order to make it through your entire cycle without having to worry about doing laundry every day (15-20 total pads). - How much money will I actually save?
One cloth pad will replace about 100 disposable pads during its lifetime. The average woman will spend around $2,000 alone on pads during her period years. A stash of cloth pads can cost around $100 (or less!) and last over 10 years. Right there you are talking about a savings of almost $2,000.
Like anything else in life, you don’t know until you try it. So the best advice I can give to you is to try them. You don’t have much to lose, and you have a lot to gain.
